Next Hike on June 20, 2009

Our last hike of the season will be on Saturday 6-20-09. Then we will be taking July and August off and start again in September. Saturday we will be going to Flagstaff to do the Inner Basin Trail.

The hike will be 6 to 8 miles round trip. The trail starts in beautiful Lockett Meadow ringed by Aspens and the San Francisco Peaks . The trail takes you up the eastern opening of the extinct volcano that formed the San Francisco Peaks. The trail is an old road used by City of Flagstaff as the Basin is the City's watershed . At 1.5 miles is Jack Smith Spring and several other trails . We stay on the Inner Basin Trail 2 1/4 miles to the junction of the Weatherford Trail and return the way we came.
